Charleston Earthquake May 10, 2011

The earthquake that happened in Haiti over a year ago was actually smaller than the 1886 quake we had here in Charleston. The Charleston quake measured 7.3 on the Richter scale and damaged 90% of the masonry structures. If the same quake hit today, experts believe the total property damage would be around $40 billion!! The interesting thing is that most property owners don’t have the coverage.
